15 Craigside

My mother recently got accepted to live at 15 Craigside and I could not be more grateful to God for allowing her this opportunity to live the rest of her life in such a conscientious, caring community of professionals and friends! Starting with admissions, it was a seamless process once my mother decided she wanted to move in. Chanel, Director of Sales, continued to help us until we got comfortable with De’Shae who is the Resident Services Manager. The IT department also patiently and persistently helped my mother until her all-important television was operational. My mother was so blessed to join the 15 Craigside community right after New Year’s Eve 2024, and her time there started with Aloha Hour, then progressed through special feasts - Korean lunch; Chinese New Year’s lunch; and Valentine’s Day dinner. These were beyond the nutritious and delicious meals that 15 Craigside serves 3 times a day - for example, the Chinese New Year’s lunch featured delicacies such as Jai (vegetarian monk’s food), steamed fish Chinese style, and an assortment of dim sum! The Valentine’s Day dinner featured beef tenderloin and lobster tails (yes, lobster tails!). My mom was accepted as a patient of Dr. Uechi, who is the Assistant Medical Director of 15 Craigside and a geriatrician who helps patients with long term care and aging issues. She receives daily medication management through the Clinic, which is overseen by Jhoselyn, the Registered Nurse and Clinic Manager. Tracie, the Social Worker, has helped tremendously with my mom's care needs and activities, and Tracie has kept the family well informed. On the day my mom fell, the Clinic team checked on her every hour throughout the night to be sure that she was okay. This is just an example of the conscientious, caring professionals at 15 Craigside! It is more than comforting to know that as my mom needs increasing levels of care, there is no limit to the level of care that 15 Craigside is staffed and equipped to provide for her. The level of personal attention to all the residents who currently live at 15 Craigside is unimaginable until you actually experience it. It starts when you pull up to park your car and the smiling valets do everything they can to make your parking experience as easy as possible - they even come up to the vehicle when my mom is getting in or out to help her. It continues with the reception desk which greets you with a name tag after you electronically sign in so that everyone who enters the building (vendors and guests) is accounted for. One would think that with all of these dedicated professionals caring for the residents, Bree the Chief Operating Officer could just remain in her office and you would never meet her, but that is far from the truth since Bree is always walking around 15 Craigside and she is extremely approachable to talk about anything and everything. I hope this letter of gratefulness is helpful to anyone who is thinking about “a place for mom” as the Arcadia/15 Craigside ad depicts. The secret, best part of 15 Craigside (although my mom will not need to take advantage of it) is that if a resident exhausts all funds to pay for continued, higher levels of care, then that resident can remain at 15 Craigside which will subsidize that resident’s expenses until that resident’s life ends. What peace of mind this provides to residents and their families!!

A combination of independent living facility (upper floors) and nursing home (2nd floor). Also has main dining room and library and gym on the premises. Facility owned by same company that operates Arcadia and Arcadia Home Health.
