Real food, real freedom. The residents can eat on their own schedule. For my mom, that freedom will make a big difference in her choice to move because she feels respected and in control. This is a little thing but it makes a big difference when compared to other assisted living companies.

Aegis Lodge actually feels like home. What really struck me was how cozy everything feels. There are little nooks for reading, spots to play chess or just chat near the fireplace. It doesn’t feel institutional at all. My aunt lives at an assisted living facility that feels like a hospital. I will be getting her to tour here.

This place is alive. May was packed with events—art classes, movie nights, a Travel Talk about Southeast Asia, even a Ladies’ Lunch Outing. There’s so much going on here. When we toured my parents really felt the active social events were far better than other senior living places we visited.
