Update: August 2025 Alate was sold in August 2025 to Alexandria Redevelopment Housing Authority. It is no longer an luxury active living 62+ apartment resident with quality services. The building is now affordable housing with tenants from a previous owned ARHA property that was closed down. September 2024 We moved to Alate after RVing full time for four years. The Alate staff made it easy to select the Alate Old Town as our new home. The very close proximity to the Metro Station, Washington DC, and Reagan Airport were the amenities to close the deal. After moving into our apartment, the attentiveness of the Alate Old Town Staff and luxury of the property makes us feel even more at home. I am so glad and blessed that we found this senior living location.

The wonderful staff at Alate made the transition to a senior apartment a pleasant one for my mom. John, Sonadji, Jamar, and Jose are all warm, professional, helpful, and caring. Such a great experience in a beautiful place. Updated 6-28-25 -- Bonaventure is selling Alate to the Alexandria Housing Authority to turn it into public housing. The Alate residents --seniors who were promised "luxury" senior living when they signed their leases -- had to find out about the sale in the local newspaper. There was no transparency. No communication from ownership. Even the staff was kept in the dark. I would not recommend apartment living in anything owned by Bonaventure. .
