The security at this place is extremely disorganized and having dealt with them for the last 4 years and currently ongoing I can honestly say they are never on the same accord. There have been multiple instances of inconsistencies regarding the front gate located on Shamrock rd. Some officers follow the policy and procedures, some do not, and others do as they very well please and use certain aspects of the policy to invalidate any issue or concern you choose to bring to their attention. If you ever need to address an issue or concern, expect to be drowned out and talked over. For a senior living facility that is clearly trying to promote luxury and secure comfort, more professionalism and structure is expected. Seeing that the last decent review of this place was 9 months ago I’m not surprised.

No service...unless ya beg daily... short of help??? extravagant prices for just room and board and then you hire someone to come in and look after your loved one, feed em , change em dress em... Very disappointed ! Dismissed everytime you have a question. Sad. Old folks deserve better in my opinion.

My husband and I toured 6 different communities before moving to Aldersgate and into a spacious cottage, backed by woods, nearly 4 years ago. Aldersgate has plenty of amenities: a robust schedule of movies, concerts, lectures, and off campus outings; a fitness center with multiple class offerings, a wood shop, an indoor pool, garden plots for residents interested in gardening, multiple dining venues…the list could go on. But this list applies to many retirement communities. Three things, however, sold us on Aldersgate…the natural and expansive campus beauty (still located in the city), the proximity to Uptown Charlotte, and – most of all – the community feel of Aldersgate. We did not want to live in a land-based “cruise ship.” We wanted unpretentious living, with caring staff. We wanted interesting and friendly neighbors, involved in community activities and not just attending “events.” We’ve gotten that at Aldersgate. Would we choose Aldersgate again? Absolutely.
