Ativo Senior Living of Albuquerque

My husband and I were first introduced to Ativo Senior Living before construction began when we learned its parent company was planning to build a facility for independent living, assisted living, and memory care near our home on the West Mesa. We began writing to the parent company for information and were invited, along with a long-time neighbor, to the groundbreaking. We sent photos of the ongoing construction to an owner in Oregon, and, in turn, he asked for our input as seniors. Much to our delight, he implemented some of them. In February, our neighbor moved in. In early April, we met with Peter Godeschalk, who took us on a tour of the brand-new facility, which impressed us with its attention to the vibrant history and culture of the Southwest. The art work, as well as furnishings, throughout are stunning. The dining room is sunny and gorgeous with a wonderful view of the Sandia Mountains.  The outdoor patio for dining is perfect. Peter and Steven Benson, move-in coordinator, helped us move into Ativo. Our introduction to life at Ativo was a wonderful spring egg hunt party for the grandchildren of residents and, just as importantly, for the children of employees. The food served to adults and children by chef Iliana De La Torre was wonderful. Melisa Tapia, executive director, is warm and welcoming and sponsors wonderful activities for people living here. Last week, all residents were invited to Kentucky Derby events, culminating in hors d’oeuvres and dinner in the movie theater where we watched the race. Three days ago, residents were treated to a Cinco de Mayo festival, including a delicious meal and a mariachi band. We are excited to be here!

We learned of Ativo back in September after making a trip to Albuquerque to look of senior living opportunities. After a FaceTime session with the sales director, we signed on for independent living, sight unseen (because they were then still under construction). We have not regretted our decision. We love our apartment. The staff is extremely attentive and helpful. Meals are very communal making it easy to get to know other residents. From the beginning we have felt part of a really developing community.

Ativo Senior Living Albuquerque is the BEST community! I moved my parents from another community and they are so much happier at Ativo. From the Sales Director, Peter, to Nurse Fox, the entire staff has a heart of service. My parents are thriving at Ativo and I have had a burden lifted from my shoulders. Mom and dad are actively participating in daily activities and they LOVE the food!
