BEWARE - Do Not Place Your Loved One In Their Care! When I initially placed my mother at Atria, it was a completely different environment, and I did not worry about her well being. To this day, there is constant turnover by the staff. ALL of the administrators were replaced, several nurses and much of the staff left and were replaced by inexperienced, unskilled, apathetic, unfriendly personnel. Because the staff and the administration did not communicate with each other, many of my mother's reasonable requests were not met. They were extremely neglectful in many daily routines. Atria Cranford, nickel and dime my mother on every monthly bill. For example, if my mother wasn't feeling well and didn't want to go to the dining room to eat, she would request to eat in her room. On her monthly bill, my mother was charged an additional $20 for eating in her room. There are too many examples of this over charging to mention. I visited my mother at least once a week in order to keep on top of things. There were MANY problems with Atria pertaining to nursing staff, room cleanliness, laundry, theft of personal property, etc. Because of Atria’s nurses' neglect, my mother was rushed to the hospital. She became seriously ill because of the nurses indifference in taking care of her condition Atria’s failure to properly care for my mother, led to a very difficult road to recovery. I had spoken to the Directors involved, regarding this disgraceful situation, and they took NO responsibility for their inaction! I felt unheard and I was an annoyance. We were paying TOP dollar for poor care for my mother!! When my mother was going to be released from rehab, I was informed that I had to remove my mother from Atria Atria was my mother's home for four years. My mother felt comfortable at Atria even though the care was subpar because of a new staff, especially nursing. Due to Atria's harsh treatment of my mother, I was forced to find another place for my mother to live. My mother died four months later after she was told she could no longer live at Atria. My mother's money was running out because her monthly bill kept increasing by hundreds. My mother was wheelchair bound, with no dementia, and no regular / daily medication. I was never given a reason why my mother could no longer stay at Atria. In my heart of hearts, I believe it was the fact that she would be going on Medicaid within the year. She was forced out of her home💔

I placed my disabled brother here in 2020. It was a good choice and run very well. Things changed over the years and not for the better. I did the spend down plan and after two years Medicaid and Ssi paid. I was so happy that my brother had a forever home. The transition from private pay to Medicaid was harrowing. However, that was not the worse of it. Fast forward approximately 4 years. My brother’s health started failing. I received an eviction letter from Atria saying that his health needs have changed and they could no longer care for him. I sent an email asking if they could move him into their dementia unit and crickets. If your family member does not have a lot of money/assets and there’s a chance that they may need long term care in the future, do not spend down your money here. Find a place that offers both assisted living and long term care.
