My Dad has been a resident of the Atria Kennebunk for 12 years. During that time, we have worked with numerous staff members throughout the organization. While my Dad's needs have fluctuated with his overall health during that time, he has gotten consistently great care and service at every level, from Morgan on the nursing team to Cheryl and Jessica at the front office. We highly recommend Atria Kennebunk for anyone who needs a home away from home.

My parents resided in the Life Guidance memory care unit at Atria in Kennebunk, ME for seven months. The nursing staff within the unit was consistently compassionate and attentive. However, I found the leadership team, including the head nurse and director, to be less responsive and not fully equipped to manage the complex needs associated with progressive dementia. Early in my mother’s stay, we encountered a situation in which the head nurse indicated she might not be allowed to return following a hospital visit. This was concerning, as the community was her established residence. There were also a few occasions when my mother was able to exit the building without staff noticing, which raised serious questions about safety protocols for residents with memory impairment. When my parents later relocated to be closer to family, their prescribed medications were not forwarded with them, despite the facility being informed well in advance of the move and receiving multiple reminders on the day of departure. A facility that promotes itself as providing Assisted Living and Memory Care should have the staffing, training, and procedures necessary to support individuals experiencing cognitive decline due to dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. My hope is that these areas receive attention so future residents and families can have greater confidence in the level of care provided.
Families love this community. See if it’s the right fit for you.
