Amazing and welcoming staff, at first. It seems like the longer your loved ones stay the less attention they provide to the patients.

I was a resident at Bedford for 13 months and the time I spent there was good and bad at the same time. Physical therapy is the best they are very attentive, they helped me all the therapy I needed, but once the time was done I was just walking they stopped it because the ladies that’s supposed to do restorative care they took them and started have them do CNA work so that was the end of that. They have good CNA’s and had two of them one that new my routine got me up every morning and was ready to do my work, then I had her work sister that did the ladies hair but when she started to do my hair it became a problem and the ladies now no longer get there hair braided. They now have a “beautician come out every month and when the come back it’s like nothing was done just a hot comb and that’s it, but what they are doing to her is using her always asking for help but when she ask none of them is available. There was is a CNA Susana Byfield she damaged my laptop on Sept 24 2024 by spilling orange juice on the keyboard and didn’t say anything to me but mentioned it to the nurse, but yet still hasn’t apologized the only thing she’s saying is that she’s protected under Bedford policy. I didn’t sign anything saying I’ll be held responsible is they break my property, the administrator Tyberg had the nerve to tell me oh it’s cyber Monday I can replace it for $300. That’s to show you that they will allow their employees to abuse the patients, i have mentioned that I am going to go further with taking them to court because my laptop is my business how I made my money. I also had a CNA steal my tablet in the 11pm-7am shift and for that he repaid me because he saw it on the camera. Don’t get me wrong they do have good service but if you are vocal they have a problem with that like myself. Yes they are Kosher sometimes it’s a hit or miss with the food. If your not Jewish then you will have problems they cater to them like they are good folks, they have a place to worship they get to do what they want to do in the common are the family room from Friday sundown till Saturday sundown but let a non Jew try its out of the question. Let’s talk about privacy you no longer have any, they are putting cameras all over the place and to make it worse you can’t even go outside and have a conversation they are listening and watching. How is there a yard out back and you can’t be yourself. The last thing I’ll say is that they have social workers there but all they are doing is work no social working. I was discharged and Kimberly G said she contacted where I was suppose to go and that it would be good because I’m also in a wheelchair, but when I got out I was literally in the street and had to pay $90 to get to the Bronx i called they didn’t care what happened to me the next day I was admitted in the hospital from there they put me in a nursing home 2 1/2 hrs away from my friends and family. I wanted to go back to Bedford Center administrator said no because I left a bad review. Now they can say I left a bad review which is all true because everything I say I can pull out receipts. It would have behove you if you were to take me back. So if anyone is going to put a family member at Bedford nursing and rehabilitation center make sure you check on them frequently and make sure all items you bring has there name on them. I have made some true friends I’ll miss you guys but I’m coming back to see you.

Some staff are very nice and helpful , but as far as hiring things can be very tricky and confusing. I was told during orientation I would get the hours I desired and now I’m being told only weekends are available, staff is full, no shifts really available but you guys are still actively hiring. That is not fair because it is taking away hours from people who genuinely do need and want it. The hiring can be very tricky so just be alert. I was not expecting to join aboard and was told I would be scheduled only 1-2 times and not even every weekend either. Especially after expressing my concern and problems to Diane, there was no sense of understanding or a way to help me. which honestly is not okay to make someone feel when they already have enough going on. I wish I could’ve wrote something better but I don’t understand what’s happening here.
