In regards to the Admission staff (can’t review anything else of as yet simply because my mom is very new to the facility) - Melissa and Julie have been absolute angels in realizing the care needed and difficult situations my family has been put in with recent events with my mothers diagnosis, along with previous facilities not giving her the care she needed or deserved as a human being. These two wonderful women have shown care, empathy, understanding and given knowledge (which is power) to my family’s unique situation and helped get her in to Blue Heron. I can not express enough gratitude for them just listening to what my family has been through, and making sure that we didn’t have to go through that again, to give my Mom the care she needs to get stronger and beat cancers butt down the road. This world needs people like them (especially in the medical field) and I’m so blessed to have been able to have their help, their knowledge and support in this journey. THANK YOU MELISSA! THANK YOU JULIE! You have no idea what someone’s kindness can do to change someone’s life. And you’ve done that for me, and my family. Forever grateful.

The care and attention the nurses gave to my neighbor Jean Anderson still brings me to tears. The hard work and dedication the staff show to the patients is truly amazing. I admit, when I heard that she would be going to rehab instead of back to her home, I had my doubts. Nursing facilities all have horror stories and I refused to let anything like that happen to her. I believed that she would be better off at home, but at the same time I worried if she would be safe if she did. So I would show up at all hours, trying to catch the staff being lazy, or not helping, or leaving her alone... I never saw that. All I saw were nurses treating her with all the respect, care, and dignity she deserved. Feeding her, brushing her hair, joking with her, taking her out to the common area to talk with other guests... It took me nearly a year to write this. Her passing was one of the hardest things I've ever been through... But I think about how lucky she was to have such amazing people to help her through her final days and nothing brings me greater joy. Thank you, for everything you did and everything you continue to do. ❣️
