My husbands grandpa has been here for a couple of years now and he’s thriving and doing wonderful. Great piece of mind knowing he has people looking over him while he still continues to live independently.

Friendly staff and grandparents day event was a blast!

In the past year I have seen a significant decline in the quality of care at Brookdale. There is an alarming rate of staff turnover, leaving little time for proper training. My mother is in the memory care unit where she is suffering from the lack of essential care. I have tried to address this with staff who all seem incapable of giving any answers or any solutions. They say they will pass it along to administration with no results. Among my complaints are: bathroom is always dirty, feces visible on surfaces, wheelchair, walker and brace. Sunday I found her lying in bed with no sheets, only plastic mattress protector and covered with blanket soiled with blood and feces, which were also on shirt. There is also a lack of help with personal hygiene. Infrequent showers and tooth brushing for example. She is often dressed in clothing other than her own, things she would never wear. Her laundry is always mixed with other residents. Especially concerning is not getting her out of bed and her room enough. Denying them the respect and dignity they deserve at this vulnerable time in their lives is disgraceful!!
