Casa Oliva

Truly a scary experience as I was canvassing. I am not from the area so I parked into a parking spot facing away from the building and opened google maps. Not even a mintue passed when a six foot african-american male with baggy clothes knocks on my passenger window. I did not roll my window down since I've been assaulted before. I understood he was asking for change so I said, "no thank you". He continued to knock and I tried to open maps quickly so I can leave as quickly as possible. The area is full of vandalism and I got nervous but in a matter of seconds a african-american woman is using her long nails to knock on my driver's window. I was going to roll my window down but I saw the male fidgety with his hands in his pockets walking towards the drivers side. I called my manager quickly and pulled my car in reverse. As I was talking to my manager telling him I was lost and trying to remember which way I came from, the male runs up to my passenger window and knocks rapidly while yelling, "leave!". As I drove away I see them both head inside. There were no signs indicating I couldn't park in the lot.

I've only walked by this place, but from the outside it looks very nice, the individual's who live inside have mostly brain trauma I believe, the staff there, when I've seen them outside, seem to be professional, and it really is stunning from the outside, I'm sure that the inside is just as good as the outside, I do feel sorry for the people who stay there though, having a brain trauma injury is not a joke, it's very serious, however the individual's I've seen who live there seem to do the best they can under the circumstances.

The office staff is very rude, and not helpful. When asked questions they have no answers and when the woman who answered the phone tried to slam the phone in my face after I asked for her name, she failed. I heard her entire disheartening conversation. If this is an example of who is working with anyone, let alone someone with brain trauma, I will pass.
