Cedarhurst of Fort Wayne

Recently went on a tour and Cedarhurst was very clean and all around very well put together. Staff was friendly and very informative.

Do not be fooled by the pretty building. As soon as I signed the contract, everything changed. My family was in the memory care area. There was never enough staff. Staff was often heard by myself or other family members speaking about the residents as if they couldn't hear them. There are lots of falls. The price goes up every year, around 8 or 9%. No one calls back about concerns. The attitude is very dismissive and cocky. Activities are ok. The big parties dont always include those residents. Laundry is always an issue. It's rarely done as scheduled. My family wore the same clothes on multiple days. The last straw was loud music blaring in the dining area one evening. When I asked for it to be turned down, I was given an attitude. The next day, I addressed it with the nurse. She quickly assured me I was mistaken and talked more than listened. Do not put your family here. it's not run well.

I recently toured Cedarhurst in Fort Wayne. I was very impressed with the facility, the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff! I would highly recommend it to anyone!
