This is a very clean, safe and compassionate environment. The care my father-in-law received was exceptional. The staff was patient, kind and understanding. I would highly recommend Chapters for memory care.

Not ready to express much more than horrible end of life experience at chapters. Staff needs training. Leadership needs to care about the patients and train their staff. Owner and operators should care more about expanding their staff training and understanding of what families are experiencing while their loved ones are residing at Chapters.

I'll start by saying there are wonderful people that do work here and do truly care, and this isn't a direct cut to the day to day staff, especially the nurses' assistants and cooks. Thank you for everything you have done and the love you have shown. Now for chapter of South Bend, this is a big beautiful facility, but that's what management wants. They want you to seem like you are getting this extravagant experience for your loved one so you can justify the price. The experience I've had here with my loved one will forever change my future planning with loved ones from here on out. They are under staffed and it's a big issue. They say private rooms, but when naked patients walk in and out of the room, go through things and get in your loved ones bed (yes naked) the room doesn't seem so private anymore. Most of the amenities that they seem to offer were just ink on paper. They didn't fulfill hardly any. arts and crafts, hair stylist, etc. Hell took them 3 months to get internet or cable. So I have to ask if your paying for it where is that money going? Im sure investors and executives pockets. We moved my great grandma, suffering from dementia, in when the facility first opened almost a year ago. Reading this some may ask "why the hell didn't you move her?" We fed on their broken promises. Time and time again of broken promises. I personally witnessed from staff: lack of empathy, lack of responsibility for their screw up, zero communication, a couple were confrontational and one RN (I will say she was swiftly fired) physically abused my grandmother. The lack of janitorial staff is embarrassing. This last week we had to bring our own toilet paper and paper towels with us. Bathrooms are dirty, the carpets don't ever seem to be vacuumed, trash cans over flow, weeds the gardens. I could go on, but I don't want this to seem just like a bash coming from grief. This is something that the public should know! This stuff isn't in their pretty brochure the sales team promotes. As they roll out the red carpet for their next patient, they'll hide all this truth with smoke and mirrors. Again, there are some employees that truly did care and showed love and professionalism and you all know who you are. My family and I truly do thank you for all that you did.

Value Consideration
With monthly rates between $4,936 and $5,250, the community positions itself in a mid-range price bracket. Families note that while the facility provides private rooms and a safe environment, some promised amenities and activities are lacking, raising questions about value for cost. The presence of caring staff is a strong positive, but operational issues impact perceived value.
