So impressed with Charter Senior Living of Charlotte! Ty and Rebekah work so hard and are a complete pleasure to work with. The entire staff is friendly and compassionate and they go the extra mile to meet the needs of residents and family. They are literally always working on improving life there. Rebekah took all the time we needed to help navigate the process. The staff plans fun activities for the residents and the facility is clean and well maintained. You can tell they care about their residents. I can't say enough good things about Charter! It is the perfect place for my mother in law! Update: She has now been at Charter for 2 years. Onsite Management has changed. I still love being greeted by Tonya at the front desk when I enter. The meals are nutritious and delicious and for that, I am grateful. Thank you Chef Scott! Now for the drawbacks I see at this facility. Employee turover is high. Most of my mother in law's clothes are missing even though I marked every shirt, jacket, sweater and pants with her last name and room number. Early on this summer the air conditioning in the building ceased to function and as of September, it has not been fixed. They did install portable units that vent through windows in the common areas which kept the indoor temperature at resonable levels. Lifesource, who is a contracted provider of medical care at Charter, is predatory. They love making money off the elderly. My mother in law has been receiving a 30 minute psychotherapy visits weekly for the last six months. Of course, Medicare pays for it but it is completely unnecessary. Even though my mother in law is under the care of a hospice doctor, Lifesource has their own doctor that sees her once a month (and bills her twice for different amounts on different adjacent days). These are more superfluous care visits from which Lifesource is profiting. My biggest complaint is that we received a letter a few weeks ago in which we were informed that there would be a modest increase in monthly fees. In our case this "modest" increase amounts to a 25% increase monthly beginning October 1st. That is $18,000 a year more. Too much.

Good visit, staff was most helpful.

Supplies routinely go missing. Some of the CNAs take great care of him, but some don’t treat my father like an actual person, lying about when they’ve helped him shower. Moving him around without speaking to him or telling him what they’re doing.
