Clearwater Mayo Blvd

When you first enter Clearwater Mayo Blvd, it feels like you're entering a high-end luxury hotel (see photos), but what really sets Clearwater apart are the people who work there. My father chose Clearwater back in 2022 because he wanted to be near the Mayo Clinic, just down the road, yet in the end, it was Clearwater's caregivers and MedTechs—coupled with with Noble Hospice nurses—who gave him the best quality of life in his final months. I can't thank them enough!

I recently was a guest speaker & the residents & staff were wonderful. The location is beautiful & I was warmly greeted by everyone. It was a great experience & I can’t wait to go back.

I never like giving bad reviews I usually do not ever bother. But under my fiduciary obligations I have to warn other siblings to avoid renting out a high class apartment with very poor ever changing management teams. I am writing this for my mom and myself who both feel this is a place that does not care for their residents or especially the ones that have been here from the beginning. After the 3 years my mom has lived here its very hard for the elderly to move again, which we are now considering. It was very promising in the beginning 3 years ago but since time it has degradated fast. The managing staff and especially maintenace has gone down down way way down. There is a reason they have gone thru many staffing changes. After 3 managing directors, this is far from being an epistemic community. There must be an systemic reason, that they just can not figure yet. It will take at least a year or more before there is any improvement. One of the major problems is with how this facility was first built during COVID. They must of cut allot of corners with the cheapest of building materials and terrible construction workers. There is many problems with the room AC units with many roof units that are lemons. Cheap sink faucets, switches behind doors, very noisy air handles, patio doors that do not close and hard to lock. Hallway carpets that are not cleaned engough, I could go on like no freight elevator and no garabage shoots, really cheap carpets that are glued down and hard to replace. The original room thermostat were very hard for the elderly to operate. They were switched out with a energy saving system, costing a pretty penny but only made the system worse. I am sure they made a poor choice in the system, whoops. One roof compressor 3 years later had to be replaced, which took over 3 weeks to replace now we have the main apartment unit that is no longer working. My mom had to deal with 86° plus temperatures with no maintenance personal on sight. Not until 4 hours later did someone show up with portable units. The maintenance staff have total control over these units so if there is no movement there is no air. Its very hot when sleeping and especially when you wake or leave the room for a period if time. Actually I am pretty sure the maintenance staff have no idea how they operate or use the software yet. It went from good to worse after they changed to a smarter systems. You would think it would send an alert when a unit is not working or maybe it does and they just do not care. Its all for energy saving but very unfair to the residences. You would think they would care for the elderly and making them feel comfortable for the remaining years, but they don't. There is no urgency on the maintenance part or they are understaffed or do not have the knowledge or they are more concerned with getting the empty apartment ready for the next guinea pig. This place has a couple of years to go before they have a decent staff that actually cares and knows how to treat all their residents not just the new ones. There are a few staff members that have a very pure attitude, but until they find a decent leader these few will still be there. Its a shame that this is the only way to get their attention, I wish a could write a better review but I can only warn the ones that are actually paying the bills to hid this warning Avoid this Place until Warren Buffet comes and over hauls it. He certainly would never ever stay here if he new what's was actually going on. Well you know why, money is the main object. To take what $$$ is left of these wonderful edler soles. Pay less to staff pinch ever penny he could in helping the bottom line and make as much money until he sells this piece of prime real-estate or do you really think he cares about the people living in this building. If he did he would have a better well paid staff. One good aspect the food is descent and chef and servers are great but the rules are a bit ridiculous. You figure it out hid the warning!
