Complete Care at Marcella

After two weeks of care for my mom, we’ve experienced several negative interactions with the staff- indifference, attitude when care requests are made, lack of communication. Also, the food is awful, sometimes inedible. We don’t have the option to change facilities right now, but we will when possible.

I was a rehabilitation patient for 1 week. I had a total hip replacement. In that time my rehab consisted of 2 walks and standing placing playing cards on a blackboard to determine how long I could stand. When I asked to be discharged at 9:30 am on Sat.the 09/01/24 I explained that I wasn’t, really getting much done and wanted to go home. My discharge consisted of me signing a piece of paper and the person having to be told she needed to talk directly to me and not my wife. I was discharged. “If I had any concerns I could meet with my Primary”. Asked for elevated toilet seat “good luck finding one of those,they’re in short supply Was discharged with no idea of what meds I was to take that night nor which meds had been added or changed I understand that these agencies are understaffed, however the nurses were able to provide some very good care. Beatrice was the bomb and there were several others that were excellent.

Marcella has taken really good care of my mother-in-law. The personal care staff is kind and attentive. The nursing staff has been vigilant. And the physical and occupational therapists have been instrumental in mom regaining her strength. Thank you all so much!
