Complete Care at Mercerville

When my mother was first moved to this facility on August 27, 2025, after a brief hospital stay for a mild UTI, I was happy to see how many activities they had for the residents. I did think the facility had a bad smell, but I figured that was to be expected. At each almost-daily visit, my mother was left to sit in her own urine and feces for most of the day. I would change her and give her showers on my own to avoid a sepsis infection. I knew that she was able to come home after one week because she had made significant progress physically and made sure to mention it to the staff. As the weeks went on, I kept reminding the staff that my mother was ready to come home and expected her to be released back into our care. I tried to speak to the social worker to facilitate her release but was consistently ignored. I was told "she was gone for the day" or "she didn't receive my message" or was not at work. After continual and deliberate delay to release my mother (who has the "good" insurance) my mother was finally sent home on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. On the morning of Thursday, September 25, 2025, my mother was rushed to the ED of Capital Health with a fever of 103.5, double pneumonia, a kidney infection and septicemia. Professionals there attribute her condition on the negligence of this facility. I would not recommend this facility, or any of the facilities associated with it, to anyone. They nearly killed my mother.
