Too often, nursing home staff are overlooked, criticized, or only told what they’ve done wrong. But today, I want to shine a light on everything they do right. The team at Silverlake has been nothing short of extraordinary in the care and compassion they’ve shown my mother—and in the respect and support they’ve consistently extended to me and my family. No matter how many times I’ve called with questions, concerns, or simply needed help understanding a policy or procedure, I’ve always been met with patience, professionalism, and kindness. That kind of consistency is rare, and it speaks volumes about the character of this staff. Many people don’t realize the emotional and physical toll that nurses and caregivers endure in this environment. It’s a job that demands strength, empathy, and grace—and it’s clear to me that the staff at Silverlake are truly called to this work. Their dedication is not just a duty—it’s a gift they give every single day. Tonight, as I walked the halls to sign my mom back in from an outing, I overheard a resident thank a staff member for taking her time to help her . “I’m here to help you with whatever is needed this nurse said; take your time I’m here for you”. If you need me, I’m here for you.” That simple, sincere exchange moved me deeply. Further down the hall, I watched a nurse gently administer medication to a resident, never rushing, always attentive. And at Station 1, I had a conversation with two nurses who helped me sign my mom out. They asked how my day was—not out of obligation, but genuine care. I told them it had been a tough day, and their kindness turned it around. In that moment, their compassion reminded me that even on the hardest days, there is light. To every nurse, CNA, administrator, and caregiver at Silverlake: thank you. Thank you for your time, your hearts, and your unwavering support. You give our families hope, comfort, and love—and your kindness has not gone unnoticed. I see you. I appreciate you. And I pray that you are blessed for the incredible work you do. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

My care from nurses and aids has been great! The food leaves a lot to be desired. Thank God for door dash, grub hub, and instacart.

My relative was a new admit. I went to visit him and went the bathroom had feces smeared on the seat. He or his roommate don't walk to use the bathroom didn't seem clean. It was dingy and dark. The room is small. The nurses amd cna aren't friendly and they seem that they are there to only.collect a paycheck amd not be concerned about the patients needs. If you are not visiting consistently trust and believe your family will not be treated nice.
