RESPONSE TO HAROLD KOFFMAN: Threatening poor behavior to achieve a personal goal is a hallmark of this gentleman. I am replying anonymously because I have witnessed Mr. Koffman's choice to act aggressively towards staff when he doesn’t get his way and to purposefully disrupt otherwise peaceful meals to shout and yell at those he feels responsible for having upset him. I have no doubt that identifying myself by name could lead to me suffer the same indignity and harassment on future visits to my loved one. For context to his poorly worded review, a child of an employee made passage through a set of doors that require a numeric passcode to unlock and entered an employee’s only workspace. Mr. Koffman has become perpetually upset about this and has shouted horrible obscenities at this child. He has disrupted the lobby and dining room several times over the past few weeks and has not stopped sharing his displeasure that he is not permitted through those doors. In my opinion, the staff here deserve recognition for handling his behavior with as much grace as they do. What this individual perceives as community support from other residents is nothing more than their utter acquiescence to hopefully end his outbursts as quickly as possible. It’s a shame that there are not more mental health facilities available for such individuals, as I’m unsure this person has any general health needs requiring 12 years of residential healthcare living.

Beautiful building. The Director of Nursing (DON) and the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) are very pleasant. They are always ready to assist. The Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Certified Medical Assistants (CMA), and nurses are exceptionally kind.

My Mother was in Delmar Gardens Lenexa, to rehab from a fall. Which means they knew she is a fall risk. Several times I arrived and found her sitting in a wheelchair with no restrain. There was always an excuse as too why she was sitting in a wheelchair with no restrain instead of in bed. She was sitting there with no TV on, and the cutains closed. She couldn't even look out the window. She fell from the wheelchair and was taken to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with a brain bleed in early Nov 2024. My Mother passed Dec 29, 2024. They first claimed they didn't know how she fell. They later said she was trying to get in bed, but my Mother wouldn't even try to stand. They had to use a lift to get her in and out of bed, she was always scared she would fall again. I gave Delmar Gardens a rating of #1 because I couldn't give a zero. Do your research.
