About Dorset Place Assisted Living
Dorset Place Assisted Living brings together attentive daily support and a lively social calendar in Northwest Oklahoma City. Residents here find help with bathing, dressing, medication management, and housekeeping, all guided by a full-time licensed nurse available around the clock[1]. The community crafts individual care plans for each resident, ensuring needs are met with respect and attention. Days are filled with exercise classes, social hours, classic games, and outings to local shops and restaurants—plus, pets are welcome, adding a touch of home[1]. For families seeking memory care, an on-site sister community offers specialized support for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia, providing extra peace of mind[1]. Three highlights: 24/7 nursing oversight, pet-friendly living, and a full schedule of activities and excursions.
Our Care Approach
Dorset Place emphasizes personalized care plans and 24/7 nursing oversight, aiming to support each resident’s daily routines and health needs[1]. Staff are trained to assist with activities of daily living and medication management, but some reviews suggest gaps in specialized medical care, particularly for diabetes. The community also offers short-term respite stays and has a dedicated memory care program next door for those needing extra support[1][3].
Family Experience
Families often mention friendly, helpful staff during visits and move-in, with several noting the sales process was reassuring. However, experiences vary widely—some feel well-supported and confident in the care, while others report breakdowns in communication and medical management, especially for residents with chronic conditions like diabetes.

The only reason I gave 1 star is because this system will not accept a zero or negative star rating. This place is abysmal!! After approx. 90 days (6-05 to 9-08-2023) at Dorset Place assisted living @ 2435 NW 122nd My Mother who is diabetic, was admitted to Baptist Integris Hospital with Blood Sugar Glucose of 697 & an A1C of 12 & had suffered a heart attack due to the strain & stress on her body of being denied insulin for this period. When my brother & I had originally moved our Mother into Dorset her Blood Sugar levels were maintained @ between 150 & 80 consistently & her A1C was at 6 to 7 consistently, using 1 shot of Insulin every morning & 1 metformin tablet at night. We were monitoring this with the Libre' Blood Glucose system. When we chose this facility we were told there was a Doctor who came in a couple of times per month to see residents They had a Nurse on duty at night & that Nurse Wendy was there during the day. We were assured that they could & would care for Mom's diabetic needs including insulin therapy & a healthy diabetic menu. These statements & claims were all a lie. The day we were moving Mom in, The head nurse, Wendy told us she had sent Moms medical plan of care from Mom's Primary care physician to their Dr. & that her, Wendy & their Dr.s P.A.had concluded with their Dr.s oversight that Mom could be taken off of insulin & treated with oral medications 2x daily & a proper diabetic diet. (This was later found to be a lie as well) We thought that was great news since Mom would not have to inject insulin & worry about taking Glucose readings 3 & 4 x per day. This was over a period of less then 90 days with numerous complaints concerning Mom's medical status blood glucose numbers & raising A1C levels We moved mom immediately after the hospital episode & are so glad we got her out of this place. The saddest part is the staff is out standing, the care givers here are top notch, if they would get their health care people in line it would be a solid 3 star place, it's never going to get 5 stars because or the condition of the facility, it's old & needs a total gut & remodel & as stated earlier a total over haul of the health care staff & management. DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY MEMBER HERE IF THEY ARE DIABETIC!!!
