Fallbrook Woods

Fallbrook Woods is a dedicated memory care community located in Portland. As with any care decision, it’s important to tour and ask the right questions—but having a specialized memory care option in this part of Maine adds meaningful choice for families. The setting is residential in feel, and the community has been serving older adults for many years.

We recently placed our dad into the memory care unit at Fallbrook Woods (12/23). We visit him weekly and for the most part,...unexpectedly. With three of us caring for our father at home, we literally could not keep him entertained, cleaned or dry most of the time. Every time we have gone to visit him, he is dry, warm, clean, engaged and quite happy! We could not be happier. The staff are playful with one another, as well as with the residents. Shoutout to the admissions director, Arthur. He's so personable, honest and caring. All of the nursing staff, housekeepers, dining staff, the facilities person, and honestly.. anyone else we've met. I feel like we've gotten to the point where we are as excited to see the staff as we are our dad. Ashleigh, the admin asst is so helpful whenever we have a question or request. Leticia did a great job creating events to keep residents engaged. It is SUCH a relief to my sisters and I, knowing how awesome and engaged the staff is with the residents. Edit: We lost our father recently, and there are a few things we wanted to share. Their end of life care is incredible. The Fallbrook team were very sensitive to our needs. The hospice nurses are wonderful. They lent whatever mobility device he needed as soon as they realized there was a need. The staff helped us through this final chapter of our father's life. Both hospice nurses told us that they are continually impressed with the level of care and compassion from this facility. 'One of the best in Portland, even against the skilled facilities'. While there are few big bells and whistles (I visited sites with crystal chandeliers), it is the care we sought out. Our father loved the staff as much as we did. That, and cleanliness, were top on our list. Please pay attention to the recent reviews, not the old ones. While the old reviews are based on their expenses at the time, it almost kept us from touring, and I can't help but think it was an entirely different staff/experience than what is happening now. We never had any complaints, other than an odor after someone had an accident, which can't be helped. Thanks to this wonderful place for helping us through this difficult stage of life. We'll miss the entire staff!

My mom has been at Fallbrook Woods for a little over a year now and before she got there, I had no clue what I was going to do. They totally put my mind to rest and knowing they were going to take care of my mom I am so thankful for the staff. And all the nurses Who take care of her it gives me peace of mind, knowing how much they love her and not only her but all of the other ones that live there. I would definitely recommend Fallbrook Woods to anyone that is looking for a care facility for their parents Or loved ones❤️ I posted my review quite a while ago, but I wanted to add to it and hopefully Aubrey will be recognized because she is so caring to every one there, including my mom if she wasn’t there, I don’t know what I would do. There have been so many nurses coming and going in there in the last few years my mom has been there and she has been the best. Also, I think the girl in the office is Alicia. I’m so bad on names she has helped me out so much. And I am so happy I found a place that would take care of my mom. Thank you to Fallbrook Woods and all of their staff I just wanted to recognize and give appreciation to the ones who are there every day working hard and taking care of everyone there.
