One of the worst experiences of my life. My father spent some of his final days at the Good Sam, and it breaks my heart to say this, but he was treated with neglect and a lack of basic human decency. They failed to care for a post-surgery wound that eventually became infected. At one point, he told me they left him sitting on a toilet for hours—even though he couldn’t walk or get up on his own. The fact that any human being would be treated this way, especially in a facility that’s supposed to provide care, is beyond upsetting. As a military member, I couldn’t be there to advocate for him the way I wanted to. I had to rely on this place to do right by him—and they failed him. He deserved compassion, dignity, and respect. He got the opposite. If you’re considering placing a loved one here, please think twice. No one should be treated the way my father was.
