Hale Nohea

We have worked with Hale Nohea for many years. The quality of care and performance of Staff is extremely high. More than once, we have moved a Client from an adequate facility to Hale Nohea and seen dramatic improvement. For instance - we had a client who had become mostly on-communicative and withdrawn. Within 24 hours of being at Hale Nohea she was talking again and participating in painting. Another time we had a client who had stopped eating for the most part and was combative. Again - within a couple of days Hale Nohea's magic had given her a sense of security and her combativeness disappeared and she started eating. No care facility can solve every problem but Hale Nohea comes as close as we have ever seen. Mahalo - Gary

Affidavit of only Daughter, 6/20/25: Our Father Broke his Right hip within a few weeks of residing at Hale NO-hea. I am not Privy to the exact date and time, but will update with these, as they become available. At his previous, Care Facility, Oahu Care Facility, Safeguards were in Place for his Safety, including, he was Strapped Into a Heavy Duty & heavy weighted, wheelchair. Furthermore, during his recent admission to Queen’s Hospital, Honolulu, prior to breaking a hip, I also observed, that he was ALSO Strapped in, with a Strap to his wheelchair that was also a large and heavy weight wheelchair. I am making every effort to getting to the bottom of who IS Responsible for this Injury. My Father has Never Broken a Bone in his 88.5 years, other than as a young man hurting his hand after punching a locker, where it’s not clear he broke any bones during this event, and his Doctors intentionally breaking his leg for a knee surgery, in Germany, that was a procedure that he agreed to. My first visit to dinner service was: white rice, tea —I was told by the worker that was tea being served, water, “asparagus” the size of a spaghetti noodle ( the stiff nature of the asparagus did look like a choking hazard … ) & some unrecognizable “meat” balls ? sausage ? Dad’s meal was served under a surveillance camera the entire time, and surveillance footage collaborates this Statement. During this visit, my Father was seated in, what appeared to be his Drive brand wheelchair, which is designed for easy travel: it is lightweight, and folds easily. Dad had no waistband or other strapping safeguards during that visit. Again, my Father’s wheelchair configuration was also within view of the surveillance camera. Expressing my many concerns to Michelle, who Identified herself as the Hale Nohea Administrator and Manager, over a phone conversation, that I would be taking my Concerns to Social Media, she said something along the lines of: go right ahead. —Date & time of this call are in my records, and will be updated here. I run an Organization that helps homeless Seniors, and others, and works to prevent homelessness for Seniors, with Accolades from the City and County of Honolulu. I assisted the State of Hawai’i in being selected as one of 30 Awardees, for the $11.4 Million Access to Recovery, Federal Grant, while in Graduate School, and have two friends and acquaintances with Expertise in Geriatrics Nursing with whom I Consult. I give Hale Nohea, and the CHEAP “food” served to my Father during my visit, MINUS 50 Stars. My Posturing, with the information I currently have is: WHAT Safeguards are in Place that is preventing another fall, and his Breaking his other hip ? I have no reassurance of any of this from either my Brother, nor the Facility, at this time, and am seeking to replace my Father’s current POA.
