Communication there absolutely sucks! You call to talk to Kelsey and she don't call back. They leave there residents in there wheelchairs all day. My dad has a recliner and my sister and I have requested many times to put him in it after breakfast and lunch. They don't unless my sister goes up there and ask them to do it then it a big deal to do it. I realize they are short staff but that is no reason to neglect your residents. Anything changes on my dad care dosen't get communicate, my dad suppose to wear ted socks and leg wraps don't get done and when you ask they come back we couldn't find them or doctor d/c them. Which is a lie doctor did not d/c them. Some of cna and nurses are LAZY!!!! If you don't have the patience or compassion then you are in the wrong kind of work. My sister went there today and found my dad in his wheelchair, with soaking wet clothes. They said he spilled um excuse me.... his pants were soaked, his shirt meaning back of his shirt and brief were soaked. It smelled like urine. I know they are not changing him like they should or putting in recliner because he has sores on his bottom. Half the time you call there and no answer or it goes to voicemail and no return call. For the amount of money a person has to pay to live there the care should be amazing. It should not matter if it private pay or medicaid, the care should be amazing. I will say there is one nurse that is amazing there and that is Mary! She loves her job, she has compassion, patience. She deserves a big fat bonus!!!

The staff at James River Nursing and Rehab. have consistently provided a safe, clean, pleasant environment for my mom. She enjoys the activities, but mostly she enjoys the staff. They genuinely care about her and she knows it.

The nursing staff is awesome and the management is amazing. They really care about their residents. If it wasn't for the nursing staff I would be out on the streets.Mary and Brian, Stephanie Pruitt are amazing nurses.Stephanie G, and Stephanie John's are amazing nurses.there are so many nurses to mention. I couldn’t be more proud of what they do. I just love my nurses to death. Keep up the great work. Megan in the business office is so sweet.. Kelsey is amazing and Sydnee in social director is very nice she goes out of her way to help the residents out. Maintenance Joey is an absolute joy to to talk to. He goes out of his way to help me out.
