The team at Juniper Village has shown such compassion and care to my husband and I as I was making the unexpected and very difficult decision to move my husband to memory care. The team at Juniper Village is collaborative and the medical team has done a great job identifying and dealing with my husband’s needs to help with his adjustment. There are a number of things that make Juniper Village stand out including the longevity of their staff, the staffs intentionality in knowing the needs of each resident, the facility which is clean and peaceful and allows for independence. The entire team has been welcoming and incredibly kind to my husband and our entire family making it feel like a home. My husband has especially enjoyed and taken advantage of all the spaces to walk and has enjoyed the thoughtful activities provided by the staff. Making the decision to move my husband to memory care had been one of the most difficult decisions I’ve had to make and the care and compassion shown by the team at Juniper Village has made the decision much easier.

A+ experience working with the entire staff at Juniper Village. Allison with intake was exceptionally responsive when I had to move my father urgently up from Dallas with progressive dementia. The medical staff was equally responsive to some of his immediate needs and really got his challenging behavior under control rapidly. My father really enjoyed the outdoor living space and was always treated kindly by his entire staff and his home away from home. Their house model is exceptional and lives more like a small home rather than a big institution. Five star experience all around.

First of all, I’ll say that looking for the best memory care facility is not a position that you really want to be in. But you have to do it. All ranges of emotions are taking place regarding your loved one and their care, but I found that finding the right memory care for my wife lifted at least some of those emotional burdens. My wife was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia 12 yrs ago at age 56. I retired 6 yrs ago to provide her with full-time care at home. A year ago, as symptoms progressed, I added home care to give me four mornings a week free to take care of myself, but I knew I would need to find a place for her when she needed full-time care. So I embarked on a journey, first online, and then in person tours to find the best spot for her. And that turned out to be Juniper Village at Louisville, by far! I had seen facilities that did some memory care, but mostly they focused on assisted care or skilled care. Or if they only did memory care, you would see the typical nursing home look - a central open space with everyone just sitting there, or lying in bed in their rooms. When I visited Juniper for the first time it blew me away. The first impression is a clean, professional, home-like atmosphere without the huge dining room and endless hallways that you usually see. The “Small House” concept is just that – 14 residents in each of four “homes”, on the four corners of the facility – each with its own kitchen, small dining area and TV room; and all private rooms. Everyone is out doing things, not sitting in their room. Activities are nicely scheduled with every resident encouraged to participate. The central hallway is great for walking or they can go out to the large outdoor patio and garden area in the back. The place has energy and activity with the staff showing that they really love what they do. If you need something, nursing staff and aides are easily accessible and are friendly, caring and professional. My wife has been a resident now for two months and she’s doing well. But also I feel that I’ve fit in as well and it’s become a highlight of my day to go over for a visit.

Value Consideration
At $7,680 per month, Juniper Village is priced above the local average, but families often cite the small house model, coordinated medical care, and high staff retention as justifying the cost. Most reviews suggest the community delivers good value for specialized memory care, though a few families question whether the level of overnight supervision matches the premium price.
