Find an alternative to The Legend for your loved one please. We had to make arrangements quickly for my Mom when she was 95 and had a fall and needed an assisted living facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Since our first meal with my Mom we were alarmed at the poor quality of food being served to the residents at The Legend. Nutrition is such an important factor and plays a huge role in the lives of this individuals. What troubled me most is I reached out the the CEO Matt Buchanan to alert him to this issue and while he assured me it would be addressed, here we are more than 6 months later with no results. For a company that states it has a solid Christian foundation, it is deeply troubling to me that they need to revisit “honor your elders”….moms and dads, et al. Treat them with the love you would show God. To the least of these. Right next door is Focus on the Family who as I understand it leases the land to The Legend. If others were aware of the lackluster frozen foods heated and served when these residents deserve so much more I would thing needed changes could come.

I worked for this company for three years moved my mom and because I felt like it was a good company and my mom was not easy to care for but she still deserved her dignity and this is the way that they like to leave her room laughing during morning meeting saying I hope that her daughter knows how much more they’re gonna have to pay to have her room cleaned and some girl saying that they wouldn’t even take care of my mother because she stunk I have since moved on getting a new job and I moved my mother out. This is all I will say.

My mother lived at Legends Senior Living for over 4 years when she was no longer able to live independently. She loved her new home and thrived in the environment Regent Park/Legends provides for ALL of their residents. Now let me say, my mother was not a milk toast type of person, she expressed her views and was allowed to be the person she was and we all knew and loved. This truly was her home and the residents and staff truly were her family and friends. My sister and I could not have selected a better facility/home for our mother. We have always said, "there is a special place in heaven for all of the employees." They are the most kind, compassionate and caring people. These are not a traits which are learned, but inherent. Thank you again for taking such good care of our mother, Evelyn Van Vleet. She lived 101 happy years with the help of you and your staff. Jo Kimbell
