My mom was in this facility and is now moving out due to the complete lack of care provided, especially considering the cost. For over $6,000 a month, you would expect a certain standard of service they claim to provide—but that could not be further from reality. My mom entered with dementia that was still mild; she was independent and did not need memory care. We paid for a room, cleaning service, and medication dispensing. Yet her room was consistently dark, dingy, and NEVER cleaned. The entire facility often smelled of urine. After repeated complaints about the filth, nothing changed—I eventually bought my own supplies and cleaned her room and bathroom myself. Even worse, as my mom’s dementia progressed, the staff NEVER communicated with us about her episodes or what was happening. How can a facility responsible for people’s loved ones fail to notify families about their care and wellbeing? For the cost charged and the level of neglect received, this facility is unacceptable. DO NOT send your loved ones here.

Our family was very pleased with the care and concern our mother received at Morningside. She arrived after a lengthy hospital stay, and the staff worked hard to get her back on her feet. She participated in all the scheduled actvities. Like any community, there are hiccups. The door was always open for our concerns and we worked through them. She did feel the food choices and service could be improved.

My mother lived at Morningside for 6 months in 2023. During the time she was there, her health declined to the point where she was not eating, dressing or getting out of bed. When I mentioned issues to management, I was told that we should move her if we’re not satisfied. They were not interested in changing or improving. This response was beyond frustrating as a daughter trying to advocate for my mom. When I tried to call the parent company phone number, there was never an answer. There were many errors with her medication, one being that her medicine could not be found because it was put in another lady’s drawer that had her same first name. The facility was reported several times for violations during the time my mom lived there. She ended up in the hospital for the whole month of December after her health declined. Morningside is for self sufficient adults who do not need much assistance and extra care. We are lucky she was treated at the hospital and is now healthier and living elsewhere. I often think how it would have ended up if we had continued to let her live there.
