About Oakcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
Oakcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center sits on Crofford Lane in Austin, offering nursing care and daily living support for those who need extra help. The community lists a wide range of amenities—arts and game rooms, fitness programs, movie nights, and walking paths—aiming to keep residents active and engaged. Staff assist with bathing, dressing, and medication, and a 24-hour call system adds a layer of reassurance. While the facility promotes access to nearby medical services and local spots like Starbucks and Waffle House, several reviews raise serious concerns about cleanliness, safety, and the overall environment, describing the building as outdated and institutional. Families should weigh the extensive activity offerings against these significant facility challenges.

Family Experience
Families visiting Oakcrest often express shock at the facility's condition, with several urging others to look elsewhere for their loved ones. One should ask the STAFF why there is such a protective perimeter. It makes sense....for the safety of all concerned. Shannon and the staff do a great job, despite the obvious lack of funds the Federal Government and Texas earmark for the welfare of the residents. Oakcrest should be condemned or remodeled from the ground/dirt up. This is not a typical (elderly) care facility. Regardless, the aged 40-plus people residing there with their issues deserve better. Overhaul it or demolish it. It's sad.

Very nasty filthy place the state of Texas ought to be ashamed letting a place like this serve people. This place definitely looks like a institution not homey at all ,I feel so sorry for the residents .I will be complaining to the state on the conditions that I saw.If u love your love one please look into a different place ,u will regret leaving your loved one here .Place needs to be remodeled like 20 years ago ,old outdated furniture reminds me of the 1970's...smh sad sad sad 😢😢😢 these people are suffering!!

This is not a safe or clean place. Visitors and patients are not safe at this place. Parents are jumped inside of their room. When asked to check camera, they don't see anything. I don't know of any other place as worst as this place... they don't deserve 1 star.
