Almost 3 years ago I got hired by this company to remodel some of their units and they never sent final payment, I've been in touch with the owner for over a year now and I still haven't gotten paid.

Staff is so friendly and wonderful. The clients are even better. I miss living here with all the great people I had met.

I am extremely pleased with this facility's accommodations for my stubborn, messy, and extremely (mentally and physically) frail uncle. The attentive staff effectively managed his complex medicinal regimen, attended to numerous health issues, regularly tidied his living space and bathroom, and fed him well. We've cycled him through various care facilities in the past, and this is the only place where he's been happy, as Parsons strikes the right balance between providing oversight and autonomy for him. The price is reasonable compared to comparable facilities.

How to Plan Financially for a Move to Independent Living Moving to independent living is an exciting new chapter, offering connection, convenience, and peace of mind. However, the financial side of this transition can feel overwhelming without a plan. By taking a step-by-step approach, you can reduce stress and feel confident about your move. Start by assessing your current finances. Gather key documents like bank statements, tax returns, and insurance policies, then create a clear budget that includes housing, utilities, healthcare, and personal expenses. This gives you a realistic picture of what you can afford. Next, understand independent living costs. Ask communities about their fee structures, what’s included in monthly rates, and any additional charges. Look into cost-saving options like shared living or discounts for veterans. Don’t forget to explore financial resources. Retirement savings, veterans’ benefits, long-term care insurance, and even selling or renting your current home can all help fund your move. Downsizing by selling unneeded items can also provide extra income and simplify your transition. At Parsons House Austin, we make this process easier with transparent pricing and connections to financial experts who can guide you through planning.
