Porter Place is fantastic. While my dad wasnt here for a long time, our family found the staff to be attentive, caring and engaged. The care he received was far superior to his previous care facility. The facility and staff are equipped to handle a variety of issues and needs. The building and rooms are very nice and they offer many activities and trips for residents. Thank you to ALL of the staff for taking care of our loved one. A special thank you to Kelly who is fantastic and makes the process so simple and easy to move a loved one to the facility; and Anedra who is so caring and thoughtful. All the staff are awesome that we had the opportunity to engage with. Thank you for what you do on a daily basis!

This place is absolutely ridiculous. They have been caring for my aunt for less than a year and have raised her price 3 times even though she is at the same level of care as when she went in. Insisted she go on hospice because she needs oxygen from the Covid they gave her. They lost her wheelchair while she was in the hospital with Influenza and refuse to pay for it. They also claim they have all these activities. The only activity I ever see is sitting in front of the TV, whole the workers are sitting around. I have found my aunt with 2 diapers and a pad on so they don’t have to change her as often. Don’t bring your loved ones here!

I was visiting my 4th grade teacher today. As a nurse, I can say that I am impressed with every aspect of this facility that I had a chance to see.

Key Takeaways • The Hidden Fragility – Why individuals with dementia may look strong yet remain physically vulnerable. • Brain and Body Disconnect – How changes in the brain affect balance, movement, and coordination. • More Than Just PT – Why range-of-motion exercises remain essential even when full PT is no longer possible. • When Standing Becomes Risky – Understanding the fracture risks that come with late-stage dementia. • Misunderstanding vs. Reality – Reframing frustration with compassion and clinical insight. • Planning Ahead – Preparing for common fracture risks, especially in stage six dementia. • Balance is Brain Health – How practicing balance supports both stability and cognitive function for caregivers, too.
