My father is very happy at Prairie Hills! He gets very good one-on-one help and is well taken care of by the aids. The environment created by staff makes it feel like home. We feel very happy leaving him in the good care he receives at Prairie Hills. Update 09/20/2024: The dining room is unorganised, the food sometimes near inedible. Not much choice, very little fresh food. Residents often have to wait up to an hour for their meals because the dining room can’t seem to keep staff. Often only one person is serving and one of the cooks made grilled cheese sandwiches with two pieces of toast, a slice of cheese, and then microwaving it. Food offerings are not geared toward people of the age living there. 11/25 Update Again, it’s the dining that disappoints. 45 minute wait for a grilled cheese sandwich, residents ordering grilled cheese because they can’t cut their pork chops; understaffed and incompetent! My opinion of Prairie Hills is going downhill! It’s too bad ARVUM can’t do better, especially since elder care is supposedly their specialty. One would think they would be better at food service and menus. Too bad those administrators at corporate aren’t trying better and had elder care as their priority. And then they raised the rates!!!! They can’t even serve a decent meal, but they want more money from residents.

Anything owned or ran by arvum/discovery, or any other umbrella companies are guaranteed to be mismanaged at the regional and corporate levels. Having seen the way they do things from the director seat, until the owners get rid of arvum, RUN AWAY!!!

I get to visit this community on a regular basis. Every time I show up the staff is very welcoming and helpful. Even though they are very busy, they always take time to ask how you’re doing.
