My mom has lived at Prairie Hills for several years. It’s the perfect place for her. She enjoys the good food and socializing, yet has the comfort of her own private space when she wants that. Staff are helpful and friendly. UPDATE Unfortunately, my review is no longer valid. I am not deleting it, as I truly felt this way a year ago. NOW I feel quite differently. The caliber of care has declined rapidly. There are good people that work there, but they get little to no support from the people who are in the offices (administrator and nurses). I accidentally walked in on a resident/admin meeting last week. I was very disappointed in how the administrator treated the residents. They were all complaining about the meals and recently there was a dinner that was inedible according to many of the residents. The administrator refused to discuss the issue. Several residents asked politely to talk about it (and one not so politely). She was very rude to the residents. She stated they could talk in her office individually. Why have these resident meetings if they aren't allowed to discuss the topics they bring up? I understand. They are listed to fill the schedule in the same way "Morning Coffee", "Movie in the Community Room", "Cards with Friends" "Daily Perk" etc. These are all activities listed weekly with have no input from staff except to run off a paper maybe. These residents are old and some feeble, but they are not idiots and should be treated with respect and dignity. One quote from the meeting from the administrator, "Just because we are in our offices, doesn't mean we don't care". I suggest you all come out of your offices more (or at lealst open the doors) and show you carel DO BETTER PRAIRIE HILLLS.
