We needed to find a memory care facility for my mother-in-law. I used "A Place for Mom" to get started and they sent me a list of possible places in our area. Richland Square was the first place we visited, and Tressa Hogan met me and my wife and was very helpful in the process. My wife and I really did not know what we were getting into and even a lot of the questions to ask. Tressa was very patient with us and tried to explain everything so that we could understand. We then brought my wife's sister over to tour and meet with Tressa as well. We toured several places in the area, and all were nice, and some we liked better than others. But none had any openings with private rooms. Then Tressa texted me on a Friday and let me know, sadly, that they had an opening. We were moving "Mawmaw" in shortly thereafter. The staff welcomed Mawmaw like royalty. The staff escorted her to her room and welcomed her with a slice of cake. They knew she liked sweets because they took the time to ask us many questions about her and what she liked. We honestly weren't sure how Mawmaw would adapt, but she is doing amazing. Is she as happy as she would be at her home? Probably not, but she is active and getting around really well. She has played cornhole, made smores, played bingo, and is getting acquainted with a few of her fellow residents. None of these things would she have done at home Her room is comfortable and the staff allowed us to decorate it however we needed to, to make Mawmaw feel comfortable. She is a fairly picky eater, but she has not complained about the food. She seems to be happy there, and the family has been pleased so far. I would recommend Richland Square to anyone having to make a similar decision about a loved one.

I put in a few requests to visit a few homes for my dad some time last year and Tressa was first to call. I was new to the dementia diagnosis and was new to my dad being around me. My first conversation with Tressa she sat on the phone and just listened to me for about an hour. She was so familiar with how things go and gave such great, and unbiased advice. She helped me with a checklist and things to look for in a memory care community. I toured Richland and thought it was a wonderful place. My dad was not quite at the level to where he needed secured living so I ended up keeping him home for a while longer. Tressa was always available and talked me through so many different emotions and situations that came about. She really cares about our elder memory patients and their families. I felt so blessed to be able to having a good sounding board and a solid person to bounce ideas with. Thank you so much Tressa!!

I had so many questions about my Mother and her situation. I was able to sit with Tressa and really understand what her needs will be. She was so helpful and kind.
