UPDATE: I just recalled that my family member WASN'T safe for over 12 hours. She came from the hospital after surgery, identified as a FALL RISK. When we arrived, the very pleasant nurse said bedrails are considered "restraints" by the state of Idaho and they are not permitted to install them without a request from the patient. Because we showed up after 5p, when we requested the rails, no one at this facility was available to install them. So my family member was in a twin sized bed that looked like it was built in 1974 (metal frame, 4-inch mattress), that didn't have the customary adjustable bed rails. I've cared for many eldery people. I've never heard of this restriction. ******** I had heard such great things. Unfortunately, I'm not impressed. Was my family member safe? Yes. Did she eat? Yes. Did she get her oxygen concentrator at night? No, not until we asked 4 times. Did she get the ice for her machine to keep her post-op wound cool? No, not until we asked 4 times. Did she get daily PT? No, not on the weekends as we were assured. The nursing staff was pleasant, but the support staff appeared to all be very young and/or very ethnic (meaning we had a language comprehension problem with both groups). It's obvious the support staff had little training. They were unsure and giggly. One wasn't sure if they had ice for the iced tea. The nursing staff, while obviously well-educated, appeared to have no means to pass down information from one shift to another (thus the missing O2 and ice). At least one was a traveling nurse, so I wonder if they are well versed in the technology this place uses for charting etc. I saw no one in administration or management in my two visits there. When I called, no one returned my message--I called twice and had to leave a message because no one answered the phone. From the staff we got lots of "well the hospital didn't tell us" and "that didn't happen on my shift" excuses. Not professional. If I had to do this again, I'd have hired a transport company to get the patient home and had OT and PT visits there.

I spent a week at Sunterra Springs Riverview, Boise. Everyone was very kind and helpful. I had good PT and OT. I had great nurses. I wish I could remember each name. I saw Gina was the nurse I saw the most and she was awesome. I had good CNA's including Hanna. The food service was great and wanted to help me with my vegan diet.

Chris and team are absolutely amazing. I’m grateful for the solid level of service provided to short term post acute care patients. Their building is just as beautiful as the care level provided. They collectively work hard to help those needing good care following a hospital stay.
