When we think of rehab after surgery it's almost instinctual to panic. Worry. Fears. One step away from a nursing home. Half of the care they are supposed to provide is caring. Caring for the patient's well being. Mentally and physically. One would hope they understand the fear and loneliness that patients feel when they arrive. Unfortunately the staff made my fears worse. I believe in their skills and capabilities, the lack of empathy and compassion in my opinion is associated with their unhappiness with the company and the way they are treated. They have a " I don't care" attitude towards everything their supposed to provide to ensure patients are comfortable, needs are met and provide quality care. I'm not sure if nurse's take oath's like Doctors and other professionals but if they do, they have sadly let themselves down and more importantly the patient's. I was frustrated, angry, and in discomfort my entire stay. I had cancer surgery and only a couple of nurse's actually knew how to care for my surgical procedure. Devastating to say the least. There seems to be no oversight by supervisory staff. It's a "too bad deal with it" mentality that's infected the entire staff. It was dreadful and dirty and smelled and I was left with barely any hygienic or post surgical care. As you can see from the owners " standard" reply to all these negative comments that the lack of compassion clearly starts at the top. An investigation into the neglect and unprofessional staff should be conducted BEFORE we here of physical abuse and tragedy on the news from yet another rehabilitation/nursing home institution. I pray for those that have endured the treatment and those yet to enter what can only be described as horror's. The staff should feel shame yet they chalk it up to "you get what you pay for". They have stripped the very essence of quality compassionate care to neglect and suffrage. If a choice is possible, for your own health and safety, please please choose wisely. Research. Educate. Visit before signing the dotted line. Much love to all that had to endure. Thank you for graciously reading my novel of a review.
