If you love your family, PLEASE do not send them to this facility. For one, the nurses and staff have to be the most disqualified people I’ve ever seen. My family member stayed at this facility for a while and there’s maybe a small handful of people who I actually think are good decent people. The nurses attitudes are terrible and believe me, your family will not get the care that is guaranteed. They try to portray themselves as a nice facility but unless your family member is in a place where they can provide for themselves (Walk, Talk) then don’t bother sending them here. Constantly my family and I would bring food, clothes, and other essentials. All of the items would either magically disappear or be “given away”. The nurses will pretend to be oblivious but I’m more than certain they have an idea of what’s going on at their job. They always have disgusting and nasty attitudes. I’ve overheard a few CNA’s talk about how much less they can paid compared to regular CNA’s in hospitals. Im assuming that’s why they always have the attitude. Most of them have that mentality that since they don’t get paid more, they should take it out on the patients. When in reality, applying for a different job and/or going into a different field is more logical. It’s terrible and the facility itself needs to work harder to accommodate the patients. I guarantee you any worker at this facility would never keep their loved ones here. Do with that what you will. The urine and death smell when you walk into the facility is very strong. I’m not sure how a place like this is even still open. Do yourself a favor and never send your loved ones to a nursing home, Especially a place like Sadie G Mays if you want them to live and survive.

I have applied several times for different positions posted for this company. Granted I worked there in 2001 as a CNA so I’m very familiar with this nursing home and originally from the area. I have gained degrees to qualify for admin positions and each and every time I apply, within the same day I check the status on the job board and it’s “not selected “ it NEVER FAILS. The person who is in charge of reviewing the application needs to do better, because I KNOW this establishment and a lot of people would not even attempt to work here, so having a candidate that is familiar with the area any has the qualifications is bonus itself!!!! Good luck on keeping staff for these positions that are continuously posted! Update same position posted yet again, my EXACT point, do better!

I was discharged from a local hospital to this nursing home for rehab and physical therapy. I was there for 4 months and did not receive the care that the hospital wanted for me. However, I did receive poor care including pressures sores. They say only a RN can administer medications, but often there were times when an RN did not show up for work and patients did not receive medications. During the time I was there, I never saw a doctor. The aides are supposed to accompany the patient to their doctor’s appointments. They do not help patients get ready for appointments and often times there is no aide available to accompany the patient… so the patient does not go to the doctor. The food is disgusting. Often time I would wake up and patients have wandered into my room. I found them sleep or wandering through my items. The aides will make sure that patients can not reach the Nurse Call Button. They will also make false 911 calls so that they can get a patient removed from the facility. I stayed there without getting any rehab or physical therapy. The hospital that referred me to them, decided this nursing home was making me worst and they arranged for me to get medical equipment and go home. When I would wake up, patients would be in my room asleep. Folks who appeared to disoriented and lost. And these persons would be in my room for long periods while no one seemed to look for them. The nurse call button would often be on the floor where I could not reach it in the event of an emergency. I was informed by a staff member from Georgia Adult Protective Services that this nursing home is the worst in the state of Georgia.
