Signature Healthcare Of Whitesburg Gardens

My 81 yr old, former mother-in-law, DRye, was here for right at 3.5 weeks for short term inpatient physical therapy after being in the hospital 3 times for falling while having a UTI (Twice at home and once at a different rehab). I can’t say anything but GOOD things about Rocket City Rehab. We toured this facility unannounced when we found out she was getting out of the hospital in Florence, and we were impressed at how they welcomed us. DRye had been in a different PT Rehab in Russellville twice that was not good and ended up in worse condition. She truly excelled at Rocket City Rehab (RCR&H). Only downfall was her insurance wouldn’t let her stay another week which would have been better for her, but that is of no fault of RCR&H. Like at any rehab there are always those their that love their job and those that don’t, and it shows. Many of them are exhausted and can’t get to everyone immediately. That’s understandable, and I will not base this review off of the 1or 2 that didn’t love their job in the bunch. DRye was able to tell us how she felt about the place, and she said she really enjoyed it. The nurses and staff were attentive to her needs and cared for her very well. They communicated with us often on her progress; sometimes we had to ask directly and other times they contacted us. Communication is a two way street and it was just as much our responsibility to ask. We went everyday at different times to visit and always had the same great experience. The physical therapy was top notch. We were able to share our thoughts of the goals we wanted for DRye. They gladly accepted us asking them to work with her on how to be able to get herself up if she fell, but wasn’t injured, by pulling her legs under her and using something stationary to help her stand or sit on. That helped her tremendously!!! They worked with her on other strengthening exercises and in doing occupational therapy. She said the food was good, and she enjoyed the activities see got to attend. She even had her nails and hair done at the on-site salon which made her feel so much better. I also appreciated the fact that it didn’t smell like other facilities that we had been in previously. They were in the process of updating the finishes with new paint and rubber base. We now have a fall detection home monitoring system for her. But overall, if she ended up in this or a similar situation, we wouldn’t hesitate to choose this place again. There were so many staff members from admission to discharged that were wonderful. Don’t bring your family members here for permanent living situations. Some staff is amazing the other are just there for the paycheck. This place is some people’s end of life home and it’s awful to see how they get treated. Now the physical therapy people are amazing, I adore them, always so nice and sweet to everyone!

I was there for a month and almost died from a pic line infection because of inadequate nursing not flushing my pic line it was named whitesburg gardens more than likely still a terrible place for anyone keep your loved ones out of this place
