I take care of a resident from an outside company. But the staff here friendly, clean place, my resident likes it.

Summit Place was the perfect spot for our parents! The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and the facility is beautiful and very well maintained. We were always kept up to date with communication throughout our parent's stay. On top of this, the music and activities were very entertaining! I highly recommend Summit Place to anyone that is looking for independent living, assisted living or memory care for their loved ones.

I recently stayed at Summit Place Assisted Living residence for one month of respite care while my wife took an extended vacation. I use a power wheelchair for mobility and do not drive, so staying at Summit Place was a good decision. We appreciated the opportunity to view the apartment I would reside in prior to starting the intake process. The furnished studio apartment met my needs, and I brought in a few of my own assistive devices. I received assistance from aides for showers and my bedtime routine. I had stayed at Summit Place Assisted Living for respite care three years earlier and readily agreed to the selection of Summit Place Assisted Living because of my enjoyable stay on that occasion for two months. I heartily recommend Summit Place for Assisted Living Respite Care. What made Summit Place such an enjoyable experience for me? There are many reasons: Staff – administration, recreation, nursing, and attendants. People don’t have to work at Summit Place; they want to work there. The more I interacted with various staff people, the more I could sense their deep commitment to the residents. Programming – well-thought-out programs every resident can participate in, something for everyone is an understatement, including games – word, math, various forms of solution-seeking, poker, scrabble, lectures and info sessions, music, and various interest groups. I appreciated the option to participate in activities if and when I wanted. No pressure, no requirements. And I sampled many of them! I took advantage of the fitness room and scheduled a couple of sessions with a personal trainer. Friendships – It would be hard to feel lonely at Summit unless one chose to be alone. Socialization is encouraged and facilitated by both staff and residents. During mealtimes and activities, I engaged in stimulating discussions with people who have led active and interesting lives. Everyone welcomed me as a newcomer to the residence. Books – I am a big reader and I often visited the well-stocked library. A staff member manages current books available from the Eden Prairie branch of the Hennepin County Library. I was able to make a specific request for a book from the public library – without a library card, no overdues and no fines. Food/meals – I ate well! I never had a complaint about the food. The food service staff were friendly and accommodating. Location – Summit Place is an inviting campus. The large building fits in neatly to the woods behind it. I took advantage of the gathering spaces, walking and wheeling paths, as well as the quiet outdoor spaces. All in all, I had another enjoyable short-term stay at Summit Place. I felt like I was coming back to a place where people knew me and were glad to see me. And being there allowed my wife to enjoy her time away, knowing that I was having fun in a safe place.
