About Solstice Senior Living at Normandy Park
Solstice Senior Living at Normandy Park is an independent living community nestled between Burien and the scenic Des Moines Marina, offering a warm and connected environment for active seniors. The community's signature Vibrant Life® programming, restaurant-style dining, and variety of apartment styles — from studios to detached cottages — give residents meaningful choices as they explore this next chapter. For those who may need additional support down the road, the community can coordinate with trusted third-party home care providers.
Our Care Approach
As an independent living community, Solstice Normandy Park is designed for seniors who live independently but may benefit from a supportive, amenity-rich environment. For residents who need additional assistance, the community coordinates with trusted third-party home care providers for services such as medication reminders, bathing assistance, and other daily living support — allowing residents to remain in the community as their needs change.
Family Experience
Families consistently describe feeling supported and heard throughout the transition process, with staff taking time to build genuine relationships with both residents and visiting loved ones. The smaller community size means family members are recognized quickly, and the team's responsiveness to evolving resident needs has been a meaningful comfort to those navigating this path.

The social programming and holiday celebrations receive warm praise, and many note the clean, well-maintained grounds. Some reviewers mention the food as variable and note that the physical spaces can feel dated in places, though renovations have been underway. Transportation scheduling and the community's independent-living-only model are occasional considerations for families thinking longer-term.

I’m so excited to see this Adult Family Home. The owners have put so much thought, care, and hard work into creating a clean, welcoming, and comfortable home. Their compassion, professionalism, and genuine dedication to providing quality care really stand out. I have no doubt that residents will be treated with kindness, dignity, and respect. Wishing them nothing but success as they begin this new journey!

We are so grateful to Solstice for their care and the support for my parents these past five years. This community was a wonderful respite when they needed another option than living in their own home. Each and every staff member and executive team were kind, patient and supportive of my parents growing and changing needs. We sincerely appreciate them and will be forever grateful.

We moved my 86-year old mother to Solstice Normandy Park from TN in October 2023. The Director of Sales and Marketing, Chris Hicks, has been extremely responsive to both my inquiries and requests as a family member, and to my mother as a resident. He is warm and charming and a great fit for working with elders. In fact, the staff in general has been very attentive and positive. The concierge team, Sakarleen & Elijah, are great as well. They recognized me after only a few days and started greeting me by name when I came to visit. Elijah made a point to ensure my mom had a place to sit with other residents at mealtimes, and Sakarleen helped get her signed up for one of their vaccine clinics. My mother's studio unit is quite large and has good storage space (2 closets). I would have said the facility design was a bit dated, but it is currently undergoing a refresh/remodel (new paint/flooring) which will be completed before the end of the year and is sprucing things up quite a bit. Solstice is a smaller facility which means the residents get to know each other and the staff. My mother has described the food as reasonably good and has started snubbing us upon occasion in order to eat with her social group, which I take as a positive sign she is fitting in. There is also a very concerted effort to engage residents socially with holiday celebrations and ongoing activities. As much as you hear negative things about living facilities for seniors, I would not hesitate to have a loved one here (heck, I would be happy to live here myself!).
Families love this community. See if it’s the right fit for you.
