I am married to a wonderful nurse there works there and cares passionately about the elderly. She was the top student nurse years ago in Skills USA for the state of Texas and finished #5 in the nation in the nursing skills tests in Kansas City. Now a longtime RN she is working hard with the staff to assist your family member needs. It takes everyone, family members and facility staff to make sure your loved ones get stellar care. Good caregivers treat residents like they would want their own family to be treated. You should expect all senior citizen homes to hire staff that treat the residents like that. Have a great and positive day!

I visited my sister-in-law today. First noticed she had been left sleeping upright in her chair all night, because it was unable to be laid back ,it was to close to a shelve rack behind it to lay the chair back properly. NO one took the time to pull out the chair and make her comfortable for the night. I know she does sleep in the chair. Her shoes were also left on. Her room and her body have an extremely strong urine smell. I almost gagged. Her hair is so oily that I sure it hasn't been washed for at least a week. When they do wash it ,it is still greasy, as if it wasn't washed or rinsed properly. Cleanliness helps a person feel better. I handed her a warm wash cloth to wash her face this morning, she used it as if her face had not been wiped off for awhile. Where I had my Mother the staff at least came in and washed their face and hands before breakfast, and at bedtime especially if it wasn't bath day. We were there for over an hour, no tray was brought in for breakfast, she loves her coffee in the morning. I realize she may say no, but it set up properly on the table and put with in reach she may help herself when she is really awake. Dirty cups and silverware were in her room. Her bathroom smelled awful. I realize the staff has a lot of duties, but feel when basic needs are not being met this home is not one I would recommend. to anyone.
