We encountered several issues in the last couple of years of my mother living there. The facility is always understaffed and therefore is unable to provide all the care that is needed. There were several issues with her medication some which went missing, other times it was still billed for even though she had been out of the facility for long periods of time while in hospital/rehab. When trying to get answers from the executive director and director of nursing, their response was always "we don't know, it's not our fault, you will need to contact someone else". Her care plan included twice a week showers and although she was charged for them, they were not always given. In the entire month of April alone, she only received a total of 3 showers from the staff!! The last time she was hospitalized, the discharge orders were that she needed to be in skilled nursing. We immediately cleaned out her apt and moved her but still had to sign a 30 day notice. Although this notice was dated 5/6/25 they took from her bank account, the entire month of June charges instead of only taking the pro rated amount thru 6/6/25. This large withdrawal of nearly $7000 overdrew her bank account and I was told that she hadn't been "discharged" yet and that she would have to wait several weeks to receive any refund check. So NO, I would not recommend this facility to anyone who was looking to place their loved one into assisted living. Additional information after owners response - Yes, there was indeed medication missing on 2 separate occasions. Once during the transition of pharmacies and then again when she was out of the facility during an extended hospital/rehab stay. During the transition, both pharmacies delivered a month's worth of medication within days of each other but only 1 month was ever accounted for at Southview. The additional meds were never placed in her file. And during her extended stay, the pharmacy continued to send her meds but Southview had no record of them. I had to go thru the pharmacy to get credits although they had been delivered to the facility. The fact that they were delivered but Southview didn't have them was the issue! She still has not received any refund for the June charges. They say that they submitted for a refund on 6/9 but it's now 7/1 and still no refund has been received.

In Memory Care, they are always under staffed. There is constant turn over in CNA's and Med Techs. If your loved one lives here, you need to be an in-person advocate constantly or hire outside private care to make sure your loved one is being cared for and receiving his/her prescribed medications, regularly and on time.
