Perry Lutheran Homes was recently featured on WHO 13’s Hello Iowa for its one-of-a-kind, Christ-centered intergenerational model of living. Through a unique partnership with Christ Lutheran Church and Acorns & Oaks Intergenerational Christian Academy, children and residents share life together—learning, worshiping, and growing in God’s love. "It's a unique senior living community where an intergenerational community can live, learn, and grow," said Hello Iowa host Megan Reuther. Rev. Max Phillips, CEO of Perry Lutheran Homes, added, “We have folks on the campus from 6-weeks-old to 106-years-old. This was an idea to bring back vibrancy and make life more energetic and interesting for our residents.” For nearly 70 years, Perry Lutheran Homes has been a leader in Christian senior care in Central Iowa—offering in-home care, Meals on Wheels, independent and assisted living, rehab therapy, respite care, long-term care, and memory care. Perry Lutheran Homes is one of very few communities nationwide to house a Christian daycare and preschool on-site, with plans to expand to a K-2 school by 2026. Intergenerational programs are woven into daily life—from morning exercises and arts to worship and spontaneous hallway conversations. Watch the full WHO 13 Hello Iowa segment:
