As a private caregiver with years of experience in various settings, I can confidently say this assisted living facility stands out as one of the best I’ve encountered. The environment is warm, clean, and welcoming. The staff are not only professional but genuinely compassionate—treating every resident with respect, patience, and dignity. A few of my favorites staff members, Director/Owner Phil, Director Of Nursing Moses, Nurse Shashana, Nurse aide Jackie and Tyree, House Keeping Supervisor Kim and Mona, The Director of Food Service Gerard, All are apart of a team that go above and beyond to create a home-like atmosphere where residents feel safe and valued. The facility offers well-balanced meals, a wide range of daily activities, out door trips and consistent medical oversight. I’ve seen firsthand how residents thrive here—not just physically, but emotionally and socially. What truly sets this place apart is the attention to detail and the collaboration between in-house staff and outside caregivers like myself. Communication is smooth, and the staff is always receptive to feedback, making it easy to provide truly personalized care. I’ve been working with my client for over three years. This facility doesn’t just meet the standard—it raises it. I would confidently recommend it to any family looking for a place where their loved one will be treated with care, compassion, and dignity.

Review written by current resident, Sr. Anne O. - I have lived at The Homestead for almost two years. The first year, I got settled in a one-bedroom apartment with a large walk-in closet and a bathroom large enough to hold a wheelchair. Happily, I do not need one yet. The second year, I developed health issues requiring the use of a rollator. I am glad I moved into a retirement community before I had a major health change. I appreciate the services and amenities regularly provided, such as: bus rides to doctor’s appointments, supermarkets, and big-box retail stores; exercise classes; bingo and bridge; movie matinees on Saturday and Sunday; documentaries on art, history, and nature; live music from cabaret to classical; worship for different denominations. I believe that the best part of The Homestead are the residents, about a hundred of them because they show genuine care for one another. One woman had a husband with memory problems. Two other women always joined the couple for dinner to keep a three-way conversation going. This arrangement lasted until the couple moved to assisted living at Springwell.
