Sunterra Springs Dardenne Prairie

Very nice facility, great for younger persons without other medical issues. Your nurses are not nurses. Nurses are people who care and listen to patient families concerns. My dad was on blood thinners and had wounds after arriving there that you just couldn’t get anyone to address. Walked in several times with literal small puddles of blood on the carpet. Very few staff members, they do not check patients hourly. I could be there 3 hours and no one checks on him. Please don’t get me wrong, this is a very nice and clean facility, but my dad needed more care.

The therapist and the day-to-day caregivers were good. The case worker is the definition of incompetence. She repeatedly told me that things were arranged for my father only to find out that she had not taken care of things. We were scrambling at the last minute to find a place for my father that provided good care. Sunterra did not communicate about the Medicare appeals process until the day before he was due to be discharged from their care. We now have a Certified Senior Advisor assisting us. The advisor said that this should never have happened. We plan to file a formal complaint because we were lucky to find a good place that could take him at the eleventh hour. We also don't want to see another family go through this situation. The other issue is that I tried repeatedly to contact the head of the administration. I physically went to his office multiple times, and he was never there. I left him multiple voicemails. He never returned my calls. I even I told the staff I wanted to meet with him. He never reached out. This is the most disgusting display of leadership you can imagine. His approach to resolving issues is to avoid and ghost you.

Everyone here has been so kind to me. I can honestly say I've actually enjoyed my stay here.
