Commons on Meridian has been great for my husband and me. One concern is that his room, and especially his bathroom always seem dirty. The staff in the Memory Care unit is terrific! Tanisha Foster is a force all her own! Always looking out for the residents, always on top of every situation and always kind and gentle. And ALWAYS with a smile on her face. She’s a treasure and a real asset to COM!!

🍂 October Resident Spotlight: Meet David Poor! 🌟 We’re so excited to spotlight David Poor this month—a resident whose life has been filled with family, faith, and giving back. David grew up in Winnamac, Indiana, the 6th of 9 kids. His childhood was spent mostly at home since his family didn’t have a car, making home the center of their world. He and his wife, Julie, shared 55 wonderful years together raising four sons—a chapter of life David treasures most. After graduating from Indiana State, David spent over 35 years in education—28 as an elementary school principal and 7 as Assistant Superintendent. He also helped start the Warren County Community Foundation and served 12 years as a city councilman, always finding ways to support his community. David loves golf, basketball, and cheering on both men’s and women’s teams—he even taught Stephanie White, now head coach of the Indiana Fever! When asked what advice he’d share with younger generations, he simply says: “Love the Lord and love your neighbor.” Fun facts about David: Favorite candy: Snickers Dream dinner guest: Thomas Edison Favorite fall moment: Watching the leaves fall, a sweet reminder of Julie First car: 1955 Pontiac Catalina If he could be any animal: a sloth Next time you see David, be sure to say hi and grab a fist bump—he’ll make your day brighter.
