The Grove and The Gardens

So… here it is, as predicted by our experience in 2023. Said it before, say it again, vulture capitalists SHOULD NOT be allowed to own senior health care facilities. NOT because of the core incompatibilities and incompetencies but rather because the future value of this building is phenomenal. The end game is who gets to develop this building into a cash rich privately-held enterprise. Everything in between in just a smokescreen and leverage for the goal. The current dilemma is just a stepping stone to a long-term goal to buy this asset at a “bargain” price, no doubt picked up by “shadow” partners - I predict two more years. The future value of this property is phenomenal. And the course is clear about commercial development in PG.

My experience was deeply disappointing. The management is disorganized and seems unprepared to handle the responsibilities of running a senior living facility. Training is unpaid, which is frustrating, especially considering the high turnover rate among staff. The facility is constantly understaffed, leading to overworked employees and negatively impacting the quality of care for residents. It’s heartbreaking to see so many residents moving out or passing away, and it feels like management doesn’t take these issues—or their staff—seriously. The campus director, Michelle Booger, is a prime example of the problem. She doesn’t know what she’s doing and is an embarrassment to the company. Her lack of leadership makes it difficult for the staff to feel supported or for the facility to run efficiently. Additionally, the upper management, which consists entirely of white women, creates an environment that feels discriminatory. Their behavior often comes across as dismissive and possibly racist, further alienating staff and creating a toxic work culture. To make matters worse, the state didn’t allow the facility to accept new residents for several months due to code violations. This is a clear reflection of how poorly the facility is being managed and maintained. One particularly frustrating policy is the 45-minute lunches. While it might seem like a small detail, it’s clearly a way to cut hours and save money at the expense of staff well-being. It’s another example of how little management seems to value their employees. It’s also worth noting that many of the positive reviews for this facility are fake. They are written by family members of one of the managers, blatantly lying to make the place appear better than it actually is. This is incredibly misleading and unfair to potential residents and their families. Given my experience, I would not put my garbage here, let alone my loved ones. Unless there are significant improvements, I cannot recommend this facility to anyone.
