Our dear Mother recently passed but she spent the last 14 months of her life at Heritage of Overland Park and as a family we feel very blessed that she was there and are very thankful for their care. We found the staff to be very kind and helpful and if any issues came up they were addressed politely and attentively. She had been in a couple other facilities for a short time but Heritage was by far the best. The end stages of life especially with Dementia can be very difficult but Heritage was a huge help as we walked through that journey with our dear Mother. Our entire family sincerely thanks them for the care and love they showed our Mother.

We recently moved my mom in here and the process was so smooth. The caregivers are so kind and patient. I believe it truly helps that the owner himself is on site every day working. It makes a huge difference. We love the staff here and although no one really wants to go to memory care, my mom always says this place is nice and all the people are nice and that is what matters most to us. They have been great. We highly recommend them.

Absolutely wonderful owner and staff. They have worked with my sister for three years now and I’ve done an absolutely marvelous job with a very difficult situation! I would recommend them to anyone! The facility is beautiful and clean, the food is excellent and they have multiple ancillary services that come in, so outside arrangements do not need to be made for many things. So glad we found them!

Finding Purpose as We Age Research shows that having a sense of purpose not only enriches daily life but may also help protect against dementia. Purpose doesn’t have to be something grand — it often lives in the small moments that give life meaning. Here are a few simple ways to nurture purpose every day: Stay connected – Call a friend, spend time with family, or join a group that shares your interests. Lend a hand – Volunteer, mentor, or do a small kindness for a neighbor. Savor the little things – Enjoy a favorite song, morning coffee, or a walk outdoors. Keep moving – Gentle exercise supports both body and mind. Be creative – Try painting, writing, music, or another hobby that brings joy. Give back – Share your skills, wisdom, or stories with others. Practice gratitude – Reflect on what you value most, even in challenging times. Read more on our blog about the connection between purpose and brain health as we age:
