The Residence at Glastonbury

This is ROB THE DRUMMER Gottfried, A motivational educator and percussionist… Who has had the honor and privilege to enable the folks at Residence of Glastonbury to participate through monthly RTD Drum Circle events in a group sharing and special musical event. Through the fine stewardship of Jeremy Tucker and his staff, I have witnessed laughter, Joy, and a consistent sense of well-being from all the residents of this senior living facility that participate that is palpable. The physical environment is constantly being refreshed…clean and well groomed…And the emotional and spiritual needs attended to by a fine staff of folks that seem to go that extra mile for everyone in attendance. In senior living centers in general, many of which I see on a weekly basis, the essential element is the caring and empathy… Going beyond the call by the staff as they get to know these residents intimately… And developing a great sense of empathy. Dealing with folks that are at this stage of life and differing physical condition is an incredible challenge… In order to keep it fresh. I have been singing and playing guitar at various assisted living facilities and public venues for many years. Recently I have had the pleasure of performing at The Residence in Glastonbury. I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the facility, the guest check-in process, and the staff. The staff were courteous, professional in appearance and demeanor, and highly attentive to the needs of the residents. I especially noticed how the staff interacted with residents - whether it was during planned activities, or just passing by - the staff always chatted with residents and made sure they had what they needed. It was evident to me that the residents liked the staff and enjoyed socializing with each other. The facility itself has plenty of space for dining, recreation, and other activities. Very impressive! With sincere gratitude we can not say enough wonderful thoughts about the administration, staff and residents at The Residence at Glastonbury. We needed a place to live in Ct. after a sudden medical event and within 24 hours we were moving into a furnished apartment. We are safe, comfortable and well cared for while rehabbing is taking place in the Hartford area. Do not hesitate to reach out and tour this amazing facility and all it has to offer.
