This community is amazing! The staff is so wonderful and friendly. The food in the dining room was wonderful and a wonderful atmosphere. Laurie, Sara and Joseph were great to talk to and were able answer all our questions!

This place is extraordinary. So beautiful. It was hard to make the decision to put my Mom into a Memory Care after having cared for her in my home 7 years. She has been resident at The Spires for 4 months now and it’s been the best decision.Having her there is peace of mind for me as all her needs are met and the staff is wonderful. I could not recommend them more. The food is great, facilities are clean, nurses/caregivers are sweet and there are so many activities to keep my mom’s mind engaged. She keeps a smile on her face daily. The rehab department goes above and beyond to ensure my Mom is able to remain mobile as long as possible and their free monthly dementia education/support group has been an invaluable to me. The Spires is the best of the best.

I waited months to say something, and maybe should have sooner, but this issue is still ongoing so I have to speak up. This will be quite lengthy. The Speech Therapist/Director of Rehab, I believe is her title, is (allegedly) committing insurance fraud. And in my opinion, alleged elder abuse by neglecting my aunts needs. I’m not sure how to spell it, but I believe her name is Kailey. I’m not sure what she looks like, as she wasn’t there during regular hours for me to ask her myself. Apparently, she left early to get her children. I asked, and apparently this is common. As a mother myself, you need to manage your childcare, or you need to give the job to someone who can. This isn’t fair to the patients or other staff who can manage their responsibilities. Every once in a while is normal but several times a week is inappropriate. My family pays an arm and a leg to house my aunt here. I work in healthcare, and went to visit and check on my aunt as my cousin was out of town and usually checks in on her. It turns out my aunt and many of the residents have not been receiving ANY speech therapy for the most part. Asking around, it looks like she is marking it down as if she is seeing patients, but she is not. She had my aunt down as receiving speech that day, but apparently wasn’t on the floor the entire day and had left early on many other occasions pretending like she had seen patients. I asked my cousin to escalate this when he got back from his trip, but he is brushing it off, so I am writing my concerns here. I will say, it appears my aunt is receiving OT, PT, and assistance from CNA’s. She is always clean and taken up to get up and moving in the halls or gym. Always fed and properly dressed. The staff are friendly. We have no complaints from these areas at The Spires. I can see she isn’t progressing speech wise, but is physically as far as walking and independence. The facility itself is nice and clean. Not sure about the RN’s so I won’t complain here. I am very upset as my aunt is someone who could benefit immensely from the speech therapy that we pay for. We do not pay 10k plus a month for my family member to be neglected. I consider neglect of elders criminal as I’m getting up in age myself, it’s scary. So this may seem like an overreaction, as I am taking this ordeal very personal. It looks like she has not completed speech therapy the entire time my aunt has been living here with this person as the “speech therapist” I am livid and Kailey deserves to lose her license and be fired for committing insurance fraud, because that’s what it is when you charge for a service that wasn’t received. She doesn’t deserve to be a director of anything or have patient care in her hands. What does she do all day and how is she getting away with this? I am choosing to remain anonymous as to who my family member is so this does not impact my aunts care any further. I would recommend the Spires in general, but do keep up with your family members who need speech. Higher management needs to have a sit down with her immediately.
