DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. They are GROSSLY UNDERSTAFFED, specifically on nights and weekends. If I could give negative star, I would ! This place will lead to the NEGLECT of your loved ones. My mom’s foot laceration were not checked on, I had to point it out to the DOCTOR. My mom was then sent to the ER at Baylor Scott and White, who gave her Benadryl and morphine drip cause she was allergic to the iv antibiotic that was prescribed, that my mom needed for dialysis, and then she was sent back to Lake Highlands. The staff NEVER even checked her feet, nor did a skin assessment when she returned back to Lake Highlands. I get a call 36 hours later from the RN saying that my mom was found unresponsive with only her eyes moving. Turns out my mom’s sugar was at a 34! This call that I received from Lake Highlands was at 9am, her sugar was last checked at 7pm. SO THEY WAITED OVER 12 HOURS TO CHECK MY MOMS SUGAR ! My mom has been a diabetic for over 45 years and had end stage renal disease and no one thought that her sugar must’ve been checked more than TWICE a day ? When I asked that to the Director of Nursing : Melissa, she pointed her finger at the doctor (Dr. Tran?) saying that checking her sugar was “as needed basis. ” Again. This is NEGLECT. Lake Highlands want that Medicare money but don’t want to be staffed, so they can pocket that ca$h! Of course I called the state to do an audit ! Don’t send your loved ones here unless you want your loved ones to be neglected and pick up an infection, while they are here. There were SO MANY days I saw one nurse per hall. ONE! Attached below is a picture of my mom’s hands and feet that DID NOT get a skin assessment, even after my mom came from the ER , cause skin assessments are on a “as needed basis.” HOW DO YOU NOT NOTICE THIS AS A DOCTOR OR NURSE ? My mom is a complex patient with various comorbidities but they definitely dropped the ball,SEVERAL TIMES . She passed away two weeks after being found non responsive.

Please do your research and visit the facility before you admit your loved one into this center. They are understaffed, the facility is not clean, the patients are left unattended, call button is not answered promptly, patient care lacks, medication is not managed properly, unprofessional staff, the food is horrible, no communication between the center departments. Please please do your research before you find your loved ones a center.
